Legal & Terms

Last updated: August 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using WillVault.

1. About WillVault

WillVault is a digital estate planning platform that helps you build a will, record your assets and beneficiaries, and store important documents in a private, encrypted vault. WillVault is a tool to help you organise your affairs — it is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

2. Not a substitute for legal advice

The will builder produces a draft document based on the information you provide. A will is only legally valid once it has been printed, signed and witnessed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction (England & Wales, or Scotland). For complex estates or unusual circumstances, you should seek advice from a qualified solicitor.

3. Your account & data

Your data is private to you. Information you enter — personal details, assets, beneficiaries, executors and uploaded documents — is stored securely and is only accessible to your account. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to provide the service or as required by law.

4. Subscriptions & billing

WillVault is offered on a subscription basis. Plans and pricing are shown on the Plans & billing page. Subscriptions are billed through Base44 Payments and can be cancelled at any time. Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use WillVault lawfully and not to misuse the service, including attempting to access other users' data, sending unsolicited messages, or using the platform to store unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

6. Liability

WillVault is provided on an 'as is' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from the use of the service or from any will or document produced using it. You are responsible for ensuring your will is valid, signed and witnessed correctly.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of WillVault after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Contact

If you have questions about these terms or your account, please contact Base44 support from within the app.
